As we look back at March, the property market continues to demonstrate resilience despite a complex global backdrop. Ongoing tensions in the Middle East have contributed to wider economic uncertainty, while lenders have responded by adjusting borrowing rates upward in recent weeks. These factors have understandably led some buyers and sellers to pause and reflect.

However, here in Chandler’s Ford and at Sparks Ellison, the local market has remained active and encouragingly robust.

March has been an exceptionally busy and productive month for our team. We have carried out over 500 property viewings, reflecting strong underlying demand from motivated buyers who are still keen to secure the right home. Alongside this, we have successfully agreed sales on a staggering  39 properties worth nearly 20 million pounds , demonstrating that a range of homes continue to attract serious interest and proceed to agreed deals.

Equally important, we have launched 40 new properties to the market, ensuring a steady flow of fresh opportunities for buyers and maintaining healthy market momentum. This balance between supply and demand is key to sustaining confidence locally.

While higher borrowing costs are a consideration, many buyers are adapting, taking a longer-term view and recognising the value of securing a property that meets their needs. Sellers, too, are benefiting from realistic pricing strategies and strong presentation, areas where our team continues to provide expert guidance. We have noticed this month the age-old practice of agents over valuing and cutting fees to win business. Sounds great, but as we all know, it does not work and simply leads to a long, drawn-out affair, with nothing positive by way of a successful outcome.
